Dr. Jost grew up in south-central Kansas. He did his undergraduate studies at Tabor College in his hometown, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biology. He then moved to Kansas City, going to medical school at the University of Kansas and graduating in 1979. That was followed by an internal medicine residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
From 1983 through 1989, he was in general internal medicine practice at the Hertzler Clinic in Halstead, Kansas. He then went back to the University of Kansas and did a fellowship in infectious disease. After completing that, he joined the practice at Plaza Infectious Disease. He is board-certified in internal medicine as well as infectious disease.
He lives with his wife in the Kansas City area. He has two sons, both in graduate school for engineering. He enjoys spending time with family, playing with his dogs and reading on a wide variety of subjects.
